Since August 2007, 11 of the 12 residents in the Shalom House Transitional Housing Program have been placed in permanent housing. Through adopting-a-room in the Shalom House Transitional Housing Program you will play an important role in assist these women in breaking their cycles of homelessness and will:

• Have the opportunity to meet with the resident staying in the room you adopt to learn her story
• Assist in purchasing items to furnish the resident bed area and assist the resident with decor
• Assist Metro in providing daily intensive on-site services to address issues such as health, mental health, substance use, life skills etc...
• Have the opportunity to serve as a mentor as a resident recovers
• The bed area that you adopt will be adorned with a sponsor plaque with the sponsor name of your choice
• You will help break the cycle of homelessness for a Shalom House resident!

Metro’s Shalom House Emergency Shelter serves over 350+ homeless women with mental illness and chemical dependency each year. By sponsoring a bed area in the Shalom House Emergency Shelter you will:

• Assist Metro in providing new linens, pillows, hygiene products for a new resident every 90-days
• Tour Metro and meet the Emergency Shelter residents you are assisting
• Provide immediate intensive services for residents such as assessments, case management, substance abuse counseling, and living skill
• The bed area that you adopt will be adorned with a sponsor plaque with the sponsor name of your choice
