Major Focus Areas:

  • Shalom House Emergency Shelter Program – provides a 90-day 25 bed emergency shelter with supportive services for women with serious and persistent mental illness and/or chemical dependency, with the goal of providing women with the help they need to stabilize and begin to work on skills to transition to independent living.

  • Shalom House Transitional Housing Program – provides a 24-month innovative, semi-independent rehabilitation housing program for 12 women with a serious and persistent mental illness and/or chemical dependency, with the goal of providing women with the skills needed to transition to independent living.

All women in Shalom House have access to on-site professional staff including a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Substance Abuse Counselor, Psychiatric Nurse and Supportive Services Coordinator as well as many Psychiatric Technicians that monitor the facility 24/7. All women in Shalom House are linked with long-term outside resources that will follow them even after they have left Shalom House and are permanently housed.
